Hello Fellow Gamers! I wanted to follow-up with the membership concerning the development of our spring convention Barracks Battles. Re-scheduling Barracks Battles and the change in venue to the Mills Mall location has provided Big Muddy with an excellent opportunity to return to the convention format of Barracks Battles past. The lowering of the cost for the venue has allowed us to expand the convention back to the 3-day format. This year, the convention will be held May 16th, 17th and 18th, 2008 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The flat rate for the three days has allowed us to return to this format. We will be able to offer an expanded event schedule that covers the entire weekend. A few particulars: The cost for admittance will be as follows: $30.00 for the entire weekend $15.00 for a Saturday only admittance $10.00 for a Friday or Sunday only admittance Also, if you pre-register for Barracks Battles by May 1, 2008 the cost for the entire weekend will be only $20.00! And of course for those of you who have already donated to the club at the appropriate membership level, you will be admitted free of charge. Richard Wright is serving as the convention chairman for Barracks Battles; he will be issuing the event, vendor, and pre-registrations forms soon that contain the details concerning scheduling session times and table sizes. The necessary updates to the website will be made and we will be forging ahead to present a great convention. I realize that for some of our membership the re-scheduling of Barracks Battles was not well received. But please understand that the issues that forced this decision were ultimately beyond our control. I believe that with the lowering of our costs and the expansion of the convention to the entire weekend, we are in position to present a fantastic convention in May. I hope to see you all at Barracks Battles, and thank you. David Paul Harrison BMHGA President |
