Conventions

BMHGA hosts three conventions each year. Barracks Battles, a three-day, all-day gaming event held this year on May 16, 17, and 18, 2008, August Spearhead, a one-day, all-day gaming event held on the last Saturday of August, and Command Con, a two-day gaming event held during the third weekend of November.

May 16, 17, and 18, 2008

Only   until Barracks Battle '08!!

Barracks Battles is a three-day, all-day gaming event, held this year at the St. Louis Mills Mall. There are games (of course!), contests, and a silent auction. This year's theme is "Turning Points" -- Waterloo, Stalingrad, Midway or Tet - wherever there was a pivotal event in history.

Gaming Times:
  • May 16th, Friday: 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m.
  • May 17th, Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • May 18th, Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Cost:
  • Pre-registration - only $20.00 for the entire weekend if you register before May 1st -- see the official flyer, below, for the pre-registration form
  • After May 1st, and at the door - $30.00 for the entire weekend
  • Friday only - $10.00
  • Saturday only - $15.00
  • Sunday only - $10.00

    This year, Barracks Battle will be held at the St. Louis Mills Mall, 5555 St. Louis Mills Blvd. Hazelwood, MO 63042, in a store space between Bed, Bath & Beyond and Cabela's.

    Hotels and Motels

    Here's a link to an interactive Google map showing hotels and motels near our gaming space at St. Louis Mills Malls.     Silent Auction

    Clean out your drawers and shelves and sell your surplus at the silent auction. There's absolutely no cost to you to buy or to sell. And since you'll be making a few bucks at the auction, that means you'll be able to buy somebody else's surplus in order to fill up those drawers and shelves you just emptied. Don't you just love it when the universe aligns itself so neatly?



    August Spearhead 2008


    Mid-August, 2008 (date to be announced)

    Last year, the good folks at AnImagination, 5055 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO (314-293-1800) hosted our August mini-convention.

    We featured table-top battles, on land, sea and air -- ancients, Napoleonics, Colonials, World War I, World War II, Korea & Moderns. Almost 20 events spread over 3 sessions (morning, afternoon and evening). There was something of interest for every gamer.

    Cost was only $5.00 for the entire day of good fun and good friends.

    November 14, 15, 2008

    Command Con IX will NOT be held at the Sheraton this year. We're moving to a new venue. Check back here for more information.

    There'll be games (duh!) and vendors, a banquet, a silent auction, and a fundraiser.

    Vendors To be announced -- a wide assortment of books, magazines, games, figs, scenery, paint, terrain, accessories - you name it, it'll be there.

    Each Friday St. Louis, MO Warhammer 40K.
    Weekly gameplay each Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Miniature Market at 8330 Watson Road, St. Louis, MO 63119. Contact Blake for more information on the Friday gameplay. (P.S.: Blake got some Warhammer 40K units for Christmas, and he's rarin' to play!)

    There will be some 25mm Napoleonics, and Blake Walker and Steve Hood, among others, are planning something for April's game day, so come on out and play! At March's game day, there were five different games and over two dozen players.
