Miniatures & Gaming Con

Featuring miniature gaming from every era including ancients, Napoleon, Civil War, the World Wars, and the modern era.

We offer battles on the land, at sea, and in the air. All ages are welcome.

Sessions begin at noon Friday, November 14, and at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The annual Big Muddy HGA general membership meeting is 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15.

George Knapp Saturday: 1st & 2nd Sessions/ morning thru afternoon Battle of the Bulge This is a product improvement on George Knapp's Battle of the Bulge game from two years ago. New game map and some new units. Operational level. Game scale is 1 turn per day. Victory conditions are based on Germans moving units off the map toward their operational objectives. Young people are welcome, but younger than 12 must have adult. Home 20mm
William Doelling Saturday: Part I, 3rd Session/ Evening & Part II 1st Session/ Morning Crossing the River Lt. Kenton came to the edge of the woods and looked out at the river. He could see the Union engineers building a pontoon bridge across the river from the North side of the river, in order to have their troops cross over and flank the present Confederates lines. Can the Confederates break up the river crossing, or will the Union hold on to their position? Rally 'Round the Flag 15mm

Terry Callahan Saturday: 3rd Session/ Evening Thorvald’s Saga - “For Pigs and Glory” Thorvald the Viking is known all over the Norseland for his pig roast feasts. He has invited a few friends and relatives to dinner. Other Vikings have heard about Thorvald, but they are not coming for dinner. There will be Vikings coming to dinner and others to plunder. This is a fast play skirmish game with 25mm miniatures where players will vie for reputation and riches. Battle Troll 25mm
David Paul Harrison Sunday: 1st Session/ Morning Death Night The focus of this scenario is one night in late July 1944. Combat Command A of the 2nd Armored Division has swung around the main line of German resistance and advanced some 12 miles behind the German lines as part of Operation Cobra. What takes place is a confusing series of dramatic nighttime firefights which leaves over 2,000 Germans killed and wounded and over 200 taken prisoner. This action would come to be called "Death Night" by the tankers of the 2nd Armored “Hell on Wheels” Division. Modified Command Decision 1/285 Armor
Larry Freeman Friday: 2nd Session/ Evening 'Jamaican me Crazy!' This will be a CIB game where the local police and SWAT teams are coming in to knock off what they think is a local drug bigwig, but there's always something more when you play these games... This will be an excellent excuse for people to bust caps, bee-atch slap their neighbors and talk with funny accents. Oh, and maybe escape with all the loot CIB 28mm
Larry Freeman Saturday: 1st Session/ Morning 'The line must be drawn Hair' This is a Star Wars skirmish game using WotC new Star Wars figures and an adaptation of Combat Command 2 rules. The local commander of an Imperial supply depot thought nothing of sending in some troops to deal with what he thought were local forest pests getting too close to his camp. But imagine his surprise when they came back and dropped a Wookie at his feet. "Sorry, THX-1490", they said, "we missed the other one. I don't think he'll e back though. We scared him pretty good." It was at that point the commander felt he might have made a minor mistake... Modified Combat Command 2 Star Wars Figures
James Kantor Saturday: 3rd Session/ Evening Road Kill Rally Road-Kill Rally simulates the fast-paced action of futuristic motorized death sports where superstar drivers in weapon-laden cars race through the streets of America in search of blood, fame and fortune. Points are scored by killing pedestrians, destroying competing drivers and racing across the finish line first. The surviving driver with the highest number of points at the end of the race is the winner. Board game N/A

Joe Shaffer Saturday: 1st Session/ Morning (Another) Last Bridge October 1944, eastern Hungary. The Soviets launched Operation Debrecen on October 6 to drive toward Budapest and destroy German Army Group South. After only 2 weeks the Germans are stumbling across the River Tisza, one of the last defensive lines before Buda Pest. Time is short. The German commander has ordered a defensive force to be assembled on the north bank. Every available soldier and vehicle must be brought across the river before the Soviet advance forces the bridge to be destroyed. The soldiers in the Soviet Cavalry-Mechanized Group (KMG) Pliev are confident and prepared to make any sacrifice to gain a foothold across the Tisza GI (skirmish) 15mm
Joe Shaffer Friday: 2nd Session/ Evening Twilight of the Gods April 1945. The end comes for the Nazis. Now it is time to spare as many Germans as possible the fate of a Russian occupation. The town of Driesen has been overrun, but hundreds of civilians failed to evacuate in time. Panzer Division Westfalen has been ordered to open a corridor to the town and allow the civilians to escape. Battle Front (modified) 15mm
David Murvihill Saturday: 2nd Session/ Afternoon "1941-West of Kiev" Command a platoon of tanks in this WW2 event featuring all the weird Soviet early-war armor. House Rules 20mm

Darrin Loomis (Titan MMP) Saturday: 1st Session/ Morning Battle of Mobile Bay Admiral Farragut leads a large naval force into Mobile Bay. This is a recreation of the actual battle. Raiders and Blockaders 1/1200
Doug Hedley Saturday: 2nd Session/ Afternoon Jungle Raid! Carlson’s Raiders were put ashore on some out-of-the way pest-hole called Guadalcanal. Their job: collect vital intelligence. Why? They’re Marines—don’t ask. Things have gone according to plan; you have the information, now you have to get back to the coast. Things have gone so well that the back of your neck feels just a bit prickly. Too well? Where the hell are the Japs? Combat Command 25mm
Richard Wright Saturday: 1st & 2nd Sessions/ Morning & Afternoon DBA Ancients Tournament 25mm DBA Tourney using any 9 stands from a particular army list. DBA 2.2 version of the rules will be used on 3 foot square terrain matte. Don’t have to use the same stand mix in each game. Each of the players will play round robin games of maximum of an hour each till everyone has played each other. No entrance fee. Prize will be given to the various players by NASAMW (North American Society of Ancient and Medieval War gamers). DBA 25mm
Adam Jones III Saturday: 2nd Session/ Afternoon The Last Straw - Convoy Battle in the Barents Sea On December 31, 1942, the German Navy had a golden opportunity to demonstrate that it's strategic plan to fight World War II would succeed. British Convoy JW51B was spotted by a U-Boat and Admiral Raeder decided to commit a large portion of the surface fleet to destroy the convoy. The British were going to face the largest commitment of surface naval forces since the beginning of the war. As the sun rose over the Barents Sea, the fate of the German surface forces now lay in the hands of Kommodore Kummentz and his sailors. Modified Sea Power 1/2400
Adam Jones III Saturday: 3rd Session/ Evening Alter Tag - Day 1 of the Battle of Britain August 1st was Alter Tag-Eagle Day/. That day was the beginning of the Battle of Britain. The Luftwaffe launched a full-scale air attack on the airfields and radar stations located in southeastern England with the aim of destroying the RAF and open the way for Operation Sea lion- the invasion of Britain. The RAF fought back and committed their entire force of aircraft to ward off disaster. Join us and fight a small part of that day as a squadron of German bombers closes in on a British Airfield and the RAF rush in to thwart the attack. Modified Blue Sky Rules 1/300 Aircraft
Terry Callahan Friday: 2nd Session/ Evening Henderson Field Air Battle In October 1942 the Japanese made an all-out attack on the Americans on Guadalcanal. This game simulates the air attack on Henderson Field. This attack was made by several waves of Japanese bombers and fighters intent on destroying the airfield. The Americans were just as intent on preventing the Japanese from bombing the field. Blue Sky 1/300
Bill Nardin Saturday: 2nd Session/ Afternoon & Sunday: 1st Session/ Morning Combat Convoys Participate in a simulation conducted for the Warrior Brigade's 142nd Transportation Battalion during training at Fort Polk, LA. Action duplicates both supply and mounted infantry action by members of the Brigade and SOTD (SpecOpsTrngDet) as they encounter IEDs, VBIEDs, hostile fire, and encounters with insurgents.
