Mission Statement
The Big Muddy Historical Gaming Alliance ("BMHGA") is located in the greater St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area. We're a group of people interested in historically-accurate gaming, dedicated to bringing gamers of all ages and gaming interests together. We want to encourage and grow gaming in St. Louis as it is our home, but we also interact with, welcome, and support fellow gamers in other localities.

Our goal is to provide both local gamers and visitors to St. Louis with well-run events, an opportunity to meet new gamers, and a forum to voice their opinions, hone their skills, and exchange ideas. Through education, cooperative sharing of scenarios and gaming tips, and social interaction at gaming events and the twice-yearly conventions, we actively seek to expand our membership and enhance our members’ gaming experience.

Although our focus is on historically-accurate gaming, we welcome gamers of all types, including miniature table top games, historical games, board games, and role playing games.

BMHGA pursues this mission by way of free game events on Saturdays at metropolitan St. Louis area stores. We sponsor two annual Conventions and publish a bi-monthly newsletter, The Fifth Column, which provides information on club events, articles on military history, and ideas for different gaming scenarios.

Membership and Structure

Membership

New Membership Levels


The officers of Big Muddy Historical Game Alliance are asking for the support of the Membership in our efforts to ensure the financial health of the organization, and the continuation of our convention programs.

We wish to offer you the following Memberships Levels for your financial support:

IMPERIAL $125.00

A $125.00 donation provides the following:
  • Membership for the coming year
  • Paid registration for Barracks Battles, Guns of August, and Command Con for the coming year
  • The Fifth Column Newsletter
  • 2007 income tax deduction for the donation

ROYAL $100.00

A $100.00 donation provides the following:
  • Membership for the coming year
  • Paid registration for both Barracks Battles and Command Con for the upcoming year
  • The Fifth Column Newsletter
  • 2007 income tax deduction for the donation

PREMIUM $50.00

A $50.00 donation provides the following:
  • Membership for the coming year
  • Paid registration for Barracks Battles or Command Con for the coming year
  • The Fifth Column Newsletter
  • 2007 income tax deduction for the donation

STANDARD $25.00

A $25.00 donation provides the following:
  • Membership for the coming year
  • Paid registration for Guns of August for the coming year
  • The Fifth Column Newsletter
  • 2007 income tax deduction for the donation

STUDENT $10.00

This membership level is for young people who are in school. In order to acquire this membership the donor will need to show a current student ID.

A $10.00 donation provides the following:
  • Membership for the coming year
  • The Fifth Column Newsletter
  • 2007 income tax deduction for the donation

You don't need to be a member to come out to the three annual conventions, to join us when we trek to another city for a game night or convention, or to stop in at any of our free game nights. Come out and visit. We don't bite!


Dues for the 2007/2008 Year are due September 1st

 "...come to the Dark Side, Luke....join us!" Dues for the coming year will be due on September 1st. Dues entitle you to run for office, vote for officers, and receive The Fifth Column, BMHGA's newsletter. Your dues also keep the games coming and support BMHGA's efforts to present events and reach out to new players.


Structure

Meetings: Monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month. By joining the BMHGA Yahoo Groups Forum (click on the link above), you'll receive an automatic monthly notice of the date, time and place.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

For the 2008 year, all meetings will continue to be held at Ozzies's Restaurant and Sports Bar in Westport Plaza unless otherwise posted to the Yahoo! group.
